Spelling Bee solver
Enter the letters of any Spelling Bee hive and the center letter: the solver lists every word, the pangrams first. Words stay hidden until you tap them, so you can take just one hint.
How the solver works
Type the letters of the hive, from four to nine (so Mini, Big and other variants work too), and pick the center letter. The solver searches our word list, the same one the game uses, for every word of four letters or more that contains the center letter and uses only the letters given. Pangrams come first, then words from the longest down.
Each word shows only its first two letters until you tap it. That way you can use the solver as a hint ("which long word starts with PL?") without spoiling the rest. Reveal all shows the full list.
The Today button fills in the letters of today's daily puzzle. For a gentler nudge, the answers page shows how many words start with each letter, and our tips help you find them yourself.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the solver find words the NYT doesn't accept?
Every Spelling Bee uses its own word list. The solver uses the list of spellingbee.game, so for our puzzles it is exact; for other games some words may differ.
Can I enter more than seven letters?
Yes, from four to nine letters, so it works for Mini Bee (6), Big Bee (8) and other variants.
